this I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope.

Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die.

Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.
Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

I'm remembering my papa today. It's been 14 years. I wish he could have met my husband and walked me down the aisle and all that. But I'm grateful that we'll have eternity to catch up!

Scripture portions are from the Gospel of John and I Thessalonians.

I'm sorry to hear about your father. I lost contact with my father about two years ago and we haven't spoke since. it breaks my heart, but I suppose when he's ready he'll come around.

I can't seem to find your email address, so I'll leave you mine, and I'd love to hear from you.

My fiance is still in basic training right now, and can't get a lick of reliable information. First he thought he'd get 10 days leave, then maybe a month, now he thinks none at all. You would think they'd give him at least a week, seeing as he's being shipped overseas, and he needs time to marry me and register me as a spouse and whatnot. Know anything about that? I've been scouring Army websites and really the information I'm finding online is no better than what he's hearing at basic. I just want it to all work out.
