oh the dangerous places i go

Friday, April 11, 2008

I have a friend I meet at a coffee shop every few months and we hang out and read (her), work on the laptop (me), knit (her) or embroider (me) and talk in short snatches in the silent spots between songs by whatever band shows up the night we are there.

We met up last night at Boulder Coffee Company and she got some knitting done and I got some crewel work done and no one crashed through the window. Which is something to be grateful for. Not that we were ever there when it happened before, but hey…we could have been!

If you're like me, and you don't always feel like following the links to get more of the story, this coffee shop has been hit by some vehicle or other 4 times since it opened less than three years ago.

I got a lot done on the project I've been "working on" for the past few months. I had misplaced it, you see, as so often happens to things that I own. I think sometimes they're avoiding me, so I let them be. they'll come back when they're ready.

You don't misplace anything in that tiny apartment of yours.

Sometimes if things are ORGANIZED they are easier to find......

Personally, I would choose NOT to sit on their patio. And, sounds like the parking is extremely convenient - especially for pick-ups and SUVs.

Love your work.

Dave, she's an ARTIST. It's free spirited organization.

Love the "avoiding you because they want to be away from you a while" perspective... wish children felt that way sometimes!!! (***KIDDING***)

You don't strike me as the crafty 'sit and do cross stitch for a few hours' type.

Huh. Learned somethin' new.

And craft things like that run like the plague when they see me coming.

LOL, interesting perspective.

my craft projects are not like that. they are always calling to me, nagging, begging, pleading to be finished.

"don't forget about me! please come back! i'm so lonely in this dark, dusty box!" or something like that.

This is one of my favorite patterns in the crewel book. Can't wait to see it finished. I just did some stitching on a tea cozy I knit for Becca for her birthday - fun to combine the two things I love. Maybe I"ll send you photos for inspiration and you and your coffee buddy can collaberate on a project
